Now and Then

Ten years ago I was in the prime of my life. I was 23, had measurements like a Victoria Secret model, was tan, toned, and super confident. I had beautiful highlights in my hair, glowing skin, French tips on my nails, and I always had a fresh pedicure.

Fast forward ten years... I am now fifty-five pounds heavier, pasty white, flabby arms, butt, legs, stomach, oh, and did I mention my double chin? My teeth are stained from years of coffee drinking, and my roots are in serious need of a touch up. My six year old paints my toe nails (you can imaging how those look) and my nails are weak and peeling (tried self applying gel to my nails...let's just say it didn't work out too well). I look in the mirror and think "What the f*** happened?"

Mainly what happened is that I got older. As soon as I hit my thirties, my twenty yr old metabolism packed it's bags and headed out. I also have two kids now and don't have time to go to the salon every two weeks for my nails or even every couple months for my hair. I stopped going to the tanning salon several years ago since I didn't want to start wrinkling up (oh yeah, and there's the whole skin cancer thing) and I haven't used (fake) tanning lotions in a long time (which is probably good since they can make you look a little orange if you don't apply right or buy the wrong one).

My point is, I have been working on my weight and health issues but that's it. I looked at my teeth in the mirror today and thought "I need to bleach these suckers". A couple days ago I noticed how long my roots were getting and thought "wow, soon I'll be half brunette half blonde. And my nails...don't get me started on my nails (stupid self apply gel polish). I don't want to just lose weight, I wasn't to TRANSFORM myself.

I already set up milestone "prizes" so I'm just going to amend those a little bit. This post is long enough so I'll end this here. I'm going to work on the new milestone prize plan and write and updated post once it's complete. Since I'm also almost at the 10 lbs lost mark I am super excited to get my first "prize"..... (((Like you get from the dentist after you've had your teeth cleaned...you know, that little drawer full of cool prizes you get to pick from--- Wait what? That's only for kids????...Shit))). Lol
