Day 11 - Morning Check-In

Good morning everyone! Today is Friday!! Right now it's 8:15am and I am about to leave to take my 6 year old to school (I will probably finish writing this when I get back).

Okay, I'm back home. Now I have to get ready for work. On Fridays I work out of my office with my assistant. I don't know why but for some reason I always feel hungry at my office. Today I am going to bring my normal healthy snacks and hopefully it will be enough. I usually never go out to lunch on Fridays so I'll bring a microwave meal with me. If I have time, I'll go to Subway (there's one in a mall about a mile or two from my office). I have a feeling I'll start getting sick of these microwave meals so I'm trying to eat something else when possible. For now, I like most of the microwave meals I eat, especially the Three Cheese Ziti Marinara. It's actually surprising how low fat these meals are. I also bought some bagels and fat free cream cheese at the store yesterday. I'm going to bring that with me as well. I'm not sure how the fat free cream cheese will taste but I'll never know until I try.

Last night for dinner I cooked pasta again. It was delicious and fulfilling. It's one of the few dishes I cooked prior to the diet that turned out to be low fat. The only difference is that I used to chow down bread heaped with butter when eating pasta. Now, I still buy a loaf of French bread but I limit myself to two small slices and I forgo the butter. Land of Lakes has a low fat butter spread with canola oil that's actually pretty good. It's still butter so it's still full of fat, but is has about 1/3 of the fat regular butter has. I looked at margarine as well and this Land of Lakes spread is still the lowest in fat (and it tastes better)!

As I mentioned last night, my workout yesterday was excellent. I forgot to mention that I met a friend at the gym. Usually I go by myself. It's actually extremely motivating to have a friend there and you can't flake out on going. It's a win win.

I think I'm going to go online and join a support group. I am still extremely motivated to lose weight but I am concerned that eventually that will wear off. I am trying to give myself the best chance of sticking with this long term. I currently use an iPhone app called MyFitnessPal to log in all my meals and exercise. It also has members you can befriend and groups you can join. Later today I'm going to check it out. For all of you looking for an excellent food and exercise tracker I strongly suggest you try this out. It has a database of like a million foods. Every food I eat has come up. For example, my Smart One Ziti Marinara or my Snack Wells Cookies... It has them in its data base and their complete nutrition info (calories, fat, carbs, sodium...). At the end of the day I can see if I'm about to go over or if I have room for dessert. I honestly don't know what I would do without this. Check it out.

I have to finish getting ready for work. I'll check back later. xoxo
