Last night for my birthday dinner, we went out to a ribs joint. The food was okay, which was a bummer since it will be a while before I can eat like that again.
Over the past few days I've been trying to decide which diet I'll start with, after all, there are soooo many to choose from. I bought Alli a while back which is a diet pill that's FDA approved. The active drug in Alli is Orlistat which doctors prescribe to overweight patients to lost weight. Alli is a lesser dose of the prescribed version and that is how it's obtainable over the counter.
I bought the Alli pills over a year ago. The reason I haven't tried it yet is because of the "side effects". When taking Alli you have to cut food with fat from your diet. If you don't, you'll basically poop your pants. They describe it as "gas with oily spots" or "frequent stools that may be hard to control" which is way more disgusting sounding than just saying "you'll poop your pants". I've done research and people who have taken Alli seem to be in agreement: If you cut fat from your diet you'll be fine. If you don't, you'll seriously be sorry. What better way to stay motivated than having diarrhea in your pants in public. Normally when you cheat on your diet your bummed out and feel like a failure. If you cheat on your diet with Alli you'll be REALLY sorry (and you'll have to buy new underwear). I know it's kind of extreme, but without some serious motivation, I don't think I will be able to stick with a diet long term.
I have decided to start taking the Alli on Friday. I have read the little booklets that came with the Alli and they suggest starting on a Friday, just in case you have any "side effects". They figure it's better to have the "side effects" at home where you are close to a toilet compared to the mall where you could find yourself in an extremely embarrassing situation. The booklets also recommend that you cut fat from your diet a few days before taking Alli. It gives you some time to play around with your new low fat diet without the threat of the "side effects".
So even though I am starting Alli on Friday, I am officially starting my new low fat diet today...Tuesday.
Let the fun begin.
