Before I do anything I am going to do 25 minutes of yoga which always helps energize me and its a great way to start the day. I've been watching this YouTube series that has a thirty day yoga challenge. I've been switching between doing yoga and doing gymnastics stretching to increase flexibility.
When I was in my twenties I could do the splits. I have never been naturally flexible so I had to work at it for several weeks. I would stretch several times a week to remain flexible. After having kids I stopped stretching and lost my flexibility. Even though I've been doing yoga for a couple weeks I am still incredibly in-flexible. I can't even lean forward and touch my toes. I am determined to not only gain muscle strength by doing cardio and strength training but to also regain some flexibility which makes a huge difference in how I feel.
Anyway... Back to today... For breakfast I had Fiber One Granola Protein cereal. I have decided that I am going to stop eating cereal since I find myself craving it because it contains sugar. I have just switched one problem food to another, granted the Fiber One is a lot healthier than some of the food I used to eat. But in order to get over the sugar addiction I really have to cut out all of the foods that contain sugar. Once I run out of cereal (which will be today or tomorrow) I'm going to eat steel cut oatmeal for breakfast. Steel cut oatmeal keeps me fuller longer than cereal anyway and it's not something I want to reach for after dinner. Even though it's sweet it's not something I can just grab and eat because you have to cook it and then let is set for a few minutes.
For lunch today I'll probably have the usual frozen Lean Cuisine meal. If I have time I might make some chicken & veggies instead but I doubt that's going to happen. I'm not sure what we'll do for dinner. The kids are sick of eating chicken so I'll probably pick up some sirloin steaks or a London broil at the grocery store.
Tomorrow we have been invited to an Easter dinner at one of my mom's old friend's house. My aunt and uncle are driving up from SoCal and they are going to be there as well. I asked my mom what her friends were serving for dinner and she didn't know. I'm a little concerned since I can't eat food with a lot of fat in it. Hopefully their cooking Turkey or something but I would guess that they're going to serve ham or prime rib, neither of which I can have...unless I want to wear a diaper, LOL. I haven't had anything like that happen but have read a ton of stories of the horrors people have endured after eating food full of fat while they were taking Alli. I'll just bring a ton of healthy snacks with me to make sure I don't starve. It's when we are at our hungriest that we make the worst choices about food.
Okay, I really have to get going. It's 11am now. Off to do some yoga. :)
